Frying Pan Lake is also the headwaters of the second watershed draining this mine site. The Koktuli River flows from here into the Mulchatna and Nushagak Rivers, and into Bristol Bay near the town of Dillingham. Over 250,000 king salmon spawn in this system every year, along with a myriad of other fish species.
